Instagram and AI agents

A local business account doesn't die from bad writing. It dies because you are behind the chair, behind the counter, or with a patient. An agent keeps the posting regular, drafts in your voice for approval, and sorts what comes in while you work.

What an agent does in Instagram

  • Keeps a content plan a month ahead instead of assembling a post the night before.
  • Drafts in your voice: your services, your prices, the way you actually talk.
  • Triages comments: answers «when are you open» itself, hands you everything else.
  • Works the DMs the same way: routine questions closed, a booking or a complaint brought to you.
  • Turns a real result — a review, a finished job, a case — into a post rather than a forgotten photo.

Processes that run themselves

A playbook isn't a button — it's a process with a condition that starts it. These three get set up most often in a local business.

A comment lands under a post

A comment or a question appears under a published post

  1. Work out whether it's a routine question, a review, or a complaint
  2. Answer the routine one straight away — hours, address, the price from your own list
  3. Pass a complaint, and anything about the quality of the work, to you unanswered
  4. Flag a question that keeps repeating as a topic for a post

A DM asks what it costs

Someone writes «how much is it» in the DMs

  1. Answer from your price list, not with an approximation
  2. Ask for what's missing: which service, when suits them
  3. Hand you an enquiry ready to book, not a thread twenty messages long
  4. Stop and pass it over if the question needs professional judgement

The weekly content slot

Monday, the slot for preparing the week's posts

  1. Take the topics from the month plan you approved
  2. Assemble the drafts with covers made from your own photos
  3. Hand them to you as one list — approve or correct
  4. Schedule only what you approved

Where the agent stops

  • Nothing goes out without your approval: not a post, not a story, not a reply in the comments. The draft is ready; the decision is yours.
  • Questions that need professional judgement — a symptom, a legal or a medical question — get no answer on the merits. They come to you.
  • It doesn't send unsolicited bulk DMs. Messaging people who never asked is how an account picks up restrictions, not how clients arrive.
  • No one promises followers or reach. The agent is answerable for the regularity and for nothing incoming getting lost; whether a particular post takes off, nobody is answerable for.

FAQ

Will the agent post on its own?

Only after you approve it. It prepares the draft — image and text — and you say yes or edit. There is no unattended publishing to switch on: in a local business the account is your face.

What if it says something daft to a client?

It only answers what you allowed it to: opening hours, address, prices from your own list. A complaint, a disputed case, and anything that needs your call goes to you unanswered. You set that boundary during setup and can move it whenever.

It writes for me — will it still sound like me?

The voice is built from your own posts and from how you talk to customers. For the first couple of weeks you correct the drafts, and the corrections carry forward. That's exactly why approval stays mandatory rather than being a phase you grow out of.

What's needed to connect it?

An Instagram business or creator account and access you grant yourself. A personal account won't do, and that's Instagram's own boundary rather than ours. After that the setup is a conversation, with no tokens to wire up by hand.
